Cochrane Castle Golf Club located in
the town of Johnstone, Strathclyde is a mature parkland 18-hole
course of length 6194 yards (5664m). The course was designed
by Charlie Hunter and was established in 1895. Set within the
Craigston area of Cochrane Castle the elevated views from the
course provide scenic aspects towards Ben Lomond to the North,
the Campsies to the East.
The current Course Record held by home player
Richard E Love, of 62 represents 9 under the medal par of 71
and SSS of 71. The record has been in place since July 2001.

Clubhouse
The Club has the recognition of being the home
club of two of Scotland’s finest talents Great Britain
and Ireland Walker Cup Representative and 1997 Open Silver Medal
Winner Barclay Howard and European Tour Professional Dean Robertson.

Over the Golfing Season the club hosts a number
of popular Open Events, first of which is the Cuninghame Trophy
Mixed Tournament in June closely followed by the Junior Open
and Craigston Rosebowl Scratch events in July. The Open fixtures
are completed with the Gents Open Handicap tournament, which
has grown in popularity since its first event in 1996.
The course is easy accessible from all major
routes and is 5 miles from junction 29 of the M8 via the A736.
